A mother I saw today weaned her daughter over teo years ago but says she is
still producing breastmilk, enough so that when her neice was born six
months ago, she gave her a feed.
For the last six months, she has been experiencing pain and a hardening
sensation like engorgement in the upper underarm quadrant of her right
breast, just before her period starts. She says the pain can be
excruciating and sometimes she can't stand up because of it. As soon as th
period starts, it settles down quickly.
She has been checked by her doctor and had an unltrasound which showed a
higher than normal percentage of fatty tissue on the upside of the breast.
Her doctor told her to take vitamin E and evening primrose oil which she
feels has helped a bit.
has anyone come across anything like this?
