Hi everyone
thanks for your responses regarding oversupply.
I passed along your suggestions yesterday. The babies latch and suck
appear fine... no noise, baby is getting a mouthful, tummy to tummy.
this poor woman says she can pump 20 ounces out of one breast!!!
Also, she says the stools are green sometimes but not frothy and baby
is not fussy. She has nursed a baby before without this problem
What is really strange is that it is one sided. While the one breast
is constantly engorged, the other produces much smaller amounts...
She is in close contact with the pediatrician regarding the weight
gain.. I don't know if they've looked into malabsorption problems.
Anyway, with the one-sidedness of this problem, I am thinking that she
should concentrate on feeding off of the side which produces less milk
while applying cabbage to the other side. Does this make sense to you
all? Oh, I hope so! ;-)
Thanks again!
