As I read through Lactnet I see so much experience and information being
shared, but as an editor of a peer-review journal, I despair that more
LCs/breastfeeding counsellors don't submit material to journals. Apart from
a few regular 'names' .... there are opportunities in many places for case
studies (which aren't subject to rigorous review processes) and articles.
It's so important that breastfeeding material be published in
nursing/midwifery/childbirth educator... journals..
I would encourage you to share your experiences, follow through by
submitting articles or case studies or offers to review material. You'll be
given guidelines/assistance where needed.. there are usually sessions at
ILCA for potential researchers and writers too, and they're worth
attending.. and there are books about writing for health professionals.
I'm happy to share any information about resources on writing etc for
anyone who wants it (or discuss any submissions) .
