I had an interesting conversation with a man in my karate class night.
I would guess he is about 25 years old, unmarried, no children. I was
wearing my very spiffy Lactnet sweatshirt which he asked about. When I
told him I helped mothers breastfeed their babies, I was amazed by his
reply.
He said, "you help so they don't have to feed them that stuff in bottles
that kills them". When I expressed surprise that he knew about the
hazards of formula he replied "well, just read the ingredients on the
can. Why would you give things to babies that you can't pronounce".
Very basic, very smart.
I expect that someday, his wife will nurse their children!
