Dear Luise
Azathioprine pass few in breast milk. With maternal dose of 100 mg 2 times
per day, medium level in milk was 0,08 mg/l, with a ratio milk/plasma 0,1 -
0,2. Maximum level ever observed in breast milk with higher posology was
0,420 mg/l. The baby take at most 0,1 mg/kg/jour. Azathioprine is used in
pediatric ; posology in infants : 5 to 10 mg/kg/jour.
It can have bad side effects, and is so told to be contrindicated while
breastfeeding. Is it really justified ? In such a case, I give all the
informations to the mother and let her take the decision.
Kindly
