I returned to work myself teaching college nutrition during the summer with
my son in a sling so he could nurse. When he was 4 months old and also
would not take a bottle my very supportive husband and mother-in-law would
alternate (depending on the class time) bringing him to me on breaks and he
would mainly sleep when I was teaching. My husband then began giving him
pumped milk in a soft cup, which he accepted-I guess because we were not
trying to replace the real nipple. I am very glad now that my son never had
a bottle, was exclusively breastfed for 8 months and is still breastfeeding
