This is my first attempt at Lactnet so I guess I should begin with an
introduction. I am an RN,MSN who got interested in lactation long ago
with my first child (who I just dropped off at Duke University) and who
became an LC in 1988. I was a nursing mothers counselor with CEA of
Greater Phila for many years before that, along with Candi Woessner and
Judi Lauwers. I am now a staff LC (part time) at a small, Catholic,
community hospital outside of Philadelphia. I have been enjoying your
postings and happy to see the support offered to each other.
My question is this: Has anyone heard, read, reviewed a lactation book
edited by Gary Chan, MD called something like, Breastfeeding for the
medical professional? Our neonatologist saw an ad for it and wanted to
buy it for the NICU/Nursery. It is paper back and costs around $40.00.
I don't know if it is research based, accurate, informative, helpful or
what! Please e-mail me if you have knowledge of this book. Thanks.
