I agree on the two comments in last few days regarding nipple/breast pain
which hasn't responded to yeast therapy. I just had a mom with whom I was
suspicious about yeast, however no other signs. We did some topical stuff
with no relief. She figured it out herself. Everytime she sat in her car
with air conditioning blowing toward her chest her nipples would ache. Same
if she went into cold grocery store. It was mostly thermal. We are using
hot compresses while at home when they cramp, and protecting them from
exposure with cotton flannel breast pads to keep them warmer when out and
about. This seems crazy in hot, hot Texas summer, but the air conditioning
here can be frigid. The pain was fairly distracting, and was not
accompanied by blanching. No hx Raynauds, and no pain in fingers or toes.

Pat Gima also talks about theraputic massage. I think that Traeger massage
is esp. suitable for post-partum moms. It's gentle, deeply relaxing, and
unlocks those tense back muscles. so many moms I see have been taught to
lift breast and have babies lifted too high on pillows. Their shoulders are
up around their ears! I suggest lowering everything to the level where
breasts naturally hang and putting baby where nipple is. Between
discovering the wonders of Traeger and the wonders of Manual Lymphatic
Drainage massage for edemic breasts, I am seeing lots of good results for
some types of pain I could never before help resolve. I refer to two
wonderful therapists. I bet if you called the local massage therapy school
and asked for the name of a Traeger and a MLD therapist you could find them
easily.
