I work in a hospital, as an LC, with a NICU and work with a lot of
premature infants. For some reason these premature infants do not seem
to become nipple confused as easily as a full term infant. Often mothers
are only able to nurse one or two times a day and these babies still seem
to get onto the breast and do well as they get older. Tell mom to nurse
as much as possible, but let the baby lead the way and all will go well.
