Why would the mother have to pump and dump (ugh!!!) her milk? Is there
any evidence that there is this bacterium in the milk? Milk is not
usually infected with staph aureus, even when the mother has mastitis or
an abscess. Furthermore, the mother should have antibodies and other
host resistant factors in her milk which help to protect babies, not
only against staph. And prematures need breastmilk and breastfeeding
*more* not less.
Finally, won't this baby be going home with the mother eventually, and
won't she *still* be having this organism on her body. Huh? Huh?
