Regarding the NY Times article and HIV and breastfeeding...
I have long believed the answer to this is more pasteurized human milk available at a reasonable cost. It's the only body fluid that can be pasteurized and still retain its value (most of it). Yes, milk banks. In every city, health department, and hospital. And research into the role of human milk in treating (curing, even??) AIDS. But then, to implement this, someone would have to build an economic incentive into something only women can do, and they have to have a baby to do it.
Imaging what paying women to breastfeed would do to the BF rates?
What a radical thought.
