I had a nice talk with a local physician today about an in-service I will
be doing for his group next week. It will be focusing on phone triage for
his nurses, and as he said: "We are a busy pedi practice. Don't give the
nurses the idea we want them taking care of these babies. If they pick up
something, be sure to stress that I want them to refer to you." As we were
preparing to end the call, he said "By the way, how would you feel if one of
the formula companies paid your honorarium?" Apparantly one of the reps
heard about the inservice and stepped up with some "found" money. I told
him why I couldn't take that money, and that if no other source could be
found I would do the in-service for free. It was a neat opportunity to talk
about the WHO code. Don't those guys work fast and know all the slick
moves!!???
