Reglan (metaclopramide) causes dystonic reactions in 2% of patients taking
30-40mg daily. These reactions include involuntary movements of the face as
well as parkinsonian like symptoms. While the side effects will often
respond to discontinuing the drug or reducing the dosage, they may be
irreversible. As a gastroenterologist, I dislike using this drug for
extended periods of time.
