I have another medication related question: A mom has been taking Reglan
for about 1 month with a significant increase in her supply. Her MD had
given her 10mg qid rather than tid. As soon as her prescription ran out,
her supply dropped again. Her baby is about 4 mo, and she is working full
time. She asked for a refill, but the MD doesn't really want to give it to
her, and had her call our lactation office. There are no side effects so
far, but mom has a hx of one episode of depression prior to the birth of
the baby which was treated with medication. I let her know that 40 mg a
day is more than the recommended dose as a galactalogue, but don't yet know
if the MD will renew the prescription for a lesser amt. Is safe for her to
continue on Reglan for an indefinite period? Does anyone have a better
suggestion? The mom is really distressed that she is not producing more
milk on her own, and is strongly committed to 100 percent BF. Thanks in
advance for your help!
