I did not say that all orthopods were boneheads. I was not doctor
bashing. I was trying to make the point that we are frequently
presented with a "stop breastfeeding because... unless you can prove to
me that breastfeeding is not the problem". Well, I'm sick of it. And I
think you all should be sick of it too. Why not blame sun spots? The
premise I presented was "prove to me that orthopods are not boneheads".
That is the same as many of these "breastfeeding is the cause of your
headaches, tendonitis, blah blah blah". It is not impossible that in
some cases, it is actually true. We should keep our minds open. But I
have seen too many mothers stop breastfeeding because of some of these
unsupported statements, and then I get called to help them relactate,
because they still have tendonitis, or headaches or whatever.
There are so many people who tell mothers that breastfeeding is the
cause of their problems and they do it just because breastfeeding, in
our society, is a wierd thing. Well, prove it doctor, or whoever, and
we will listen.
