Hello again!

I have a letter from a dermatologist (dated 1993) about the meaning of
essential fattyacids in the treatment and possible prophylaxis of
neurodermatitis which I would like to translate (attempt to anyway) in part
for you.:

Galli and fellows at the Uni Rome and Karolinska Institute in Stockhom
found that a deficiency of longchain essential fatty acids in cord blood
and in the first 3 months of life preceded the manifestation of atopic
dermatitis (neurodermitis) and proved to be a super predictor of Atopie.

Another important find which supports the above comes from Businco in Rome.
He could show that the milk from mothers who birthed neurodermitic
infants, also have a shortage of longchain fatty acids.

My humble theory - and please let me know if I am way off base! - is that
so many of us in Europe and America have been fed margarine and not butter
all our lives. My father tells of the early days of coloring the margarine
and he was born in 1918.
Margarine does not provide us with the best fatty acids to say the least.
If we are nourished with margarine instead of good oils and butter (cis-
not the poor quality trans - fatty acids) then we have a shortage of the
good stuff for our babies. My first child had atopic dermatitis for many
years (no asthma, and finally ended with homeopathic globulins).

Michel Odent also has much to say on this topic. If I was teaching 15
years olds I would encourage to almost eliminate all that greasy fried
stuff. Good oils are vital to our good health.

In health,
