They're here!!!

Had my first exposure to a mom who had read the material . she's Jewish, so
wasn't taking it quite so seriously, I imagine, as a mom who got this from her
church or pastor.  And she's a second-time mother so she says she likes the
ideas and takes what works.  Her baby is 4 months old and is now sleeping over 6
hours a night which she accomplished following their training method of not
feeding until 2 1/2 hours after one week, 3 hours after 3 weeks, and so on.

She was in my office offering suggestions to another mom who was there with a 4
week old baby who was " insisting" in eating every 1 1/2 hours.  At first I
tried to be subtle, but finally had to come right out and say, I realize this is
working for your baby, but it can be very dangerous with some children.  Please
let me learn more about what is going on with this mom and baby.  There have
been very serious consequences for children who were put on a schedule too
early..."

I may have come on too strongly, but it took my by surprise.  Hope I'll do
better next time!
