Heidi: Dr. Miriam Labbok's work on LAM (lactational Ammenorrhea method)
states that regular 6 hour intervals between feeds usually leads to
fertility return and even just one or two 8 hour intervals leads to
fertility return in 95% of cases. My experience has been that some moms
won't conceive until they are no longer co-sleeping (some pituitary thing)
and that a maternal higher body fat seems to speed up return of menses
(stored estrogen perhaps). Along the herb line, some mothers have had
success with the use of Red Clover capsules and Vitex or Chaste Tree
infusion or capsules. 'Hope this helps.
