Hi, I'm yet another new subscriber who has been enthusiastically reading
your posts for about a month. A situation was presented to me today - a
doula spoke to my LLL co-leader who asked me to check your archives, but I
couldn't find it specifically addressed. Perhaps someone can help us.
The doula's client gave birth to a baby 2 days ago. The woman is a
recovering bulemic, no longer purging, who eats 800 calories/day. She
plans to breastfeed (has already started I assume) and would like some
infomation to present to her dr indicating whether the baby will be
adequately nourished. We've gathered from here and other sources that
breastfeeding would not be contraindicated, but I haven't yet found any
specific references. Thanks for any assistance,
Michelle Brann, LLLL
