4 wk old term baby seen at home. Mom concerned that nursing has never
been easy. This babe was 7-0 at delivery and 7-8 now. Test weight
increased by 84 gms after nursing. He NEVER seemed calm, happy &
satiated. Mom described a horror labor & CS, separated from babe x 6
hrs, Apgars 2/1 & 9/5, hosp x 3 days, babe had IV until d/c. Dad on
"temp duty" for last week. Palate seemed a little high, otherwise all
OK. I did hear gulping. I am assuming (I hate it when I do that) that
probs are due to stress, Mom's & Babe's. I have suggested rebirthing
bath, lots of skin to skin (mom says he has never really liked being
close), decreased external stim, freq unlimited feeds, finish 1st breast
1st & breast compression. Am I missing something?
