I have seen some babies react to beef as well as dairy, but it is very
rare. More than likely you have a slipup. This can happen easily:

1. Foods with natural flavors can have dairy in it, with nothing to
indicate this on the label.

2. Foods can have dairy in it with nothing at all on the label, as they
apparently are only required to list it if it has over a certain percentage
in it. Country Crock margerine is an example. The clue with this, according
to the company, is that it does contain a D on the label. Thus, if you see
a D, you know it has dairy, whether it is listed or not.

3. Eating out can be a challenge. Hard to get honest answers from
restaurants. And, innocent sounding foods can be a problem. We think fries
are OK. But if the fries are cooked in the same oil that the cheese sticks
or breaded onion rings (that have dairy in the coating) are cooked in, then
bingo,.

4. Remember that anything with casein or whey in it has dairy in it. Thus,
most soy cheeses have casein, and even many tuna fishes have casein in it.

Hope this helps.

reading...)
