AAP Drug sheets list pump & dump advice for breastfeeding moms as to when the infant can
resume breastfeeding after mom has been treated for the least aggressive form of Thyroid
cancer.

How about the breastmilk in a breast that has been unnursed for 3 weeks absorbing the
radioactivity, preventing Iodine 131 from reaching the post-surgery thyroid area?

Weaning was insisted on by the doctor.
And the mom was told by a RT during the processing exam that she must achieve immediate
cessation of lactation. Mom was given the prescription by her OB t
and told that the "dry-up" med could cause her to have a stroke.
