I would like to ask advice about the following situation.

Mother is having chronic, painful, blocked duct or mastitis in right
breast on the outside area. From about the time the baby is a week (he
is now 11 weeks old).

She is breastfeeding exclusively, no supply problems at all. Baby
gaining like a weed.

The mother has been on various antibiotics for about 10 weeks now, has
used gentian violet, all sorts of ointments, oral nystatin, and now on
oral fluconazole for the past week. She is also on 1 gram of
cloxacillin four times a day for the past 5 days less before.

She had ultrasound of the breast, for diagnosis a few weeks ago, for
treatment 4 days ago. She is better than she has ever been, but still
not good, and the situation does vary.

She had similar problems with the first baby, but not as bad, and the
problem eventually resolved spontaneously when the baby was 5 months
old.

Any ideas? I said I would put this on the net and send her all the
ideas uncensored.
