One of the nurse midwives called me yesterday-she has a pregnant pt. who had
a rough 5 wks breastfeeding her first child. A lot of diarrhea, wt. loss
and misery. She eliminated dairy from her diet and it helped greatly but she
had to go out of town, the sitter inadvertantly gave her formula and the
problem started again. She had very little support or resources at the time
so she gave up BF altogether and the baby was put on the meat based stuff.
This time she has new resolve, a different provider and me as a resource.
The midwife asked about prenatal elimination of dairy. Both of us have read
this somewhere but can't find where. I have searched the archives too and
couldn't place it. Any guidelines or info on this out there? We'd greatly
appreciate. Also, the LLL conference sounded wonderful. When will tapes be
made available and where?
