I noted, as did Pat Drazin, that US members appear to have been
disenfranchised insofar as we are not being given an opportunity to even
VOTE for a US Delegate (no such position on the recent ballot I received).
Why is that? Was it an error? Will it be corrected in time to be acted upon
in July? Or has it been moved to an APPOINTED position with no input from
members? At least one inquiring mind would like to know.
Also, I too noted that all those running seem to be RNs. Does this mean
that ILCA is slowly but surely being transformed into another nursing
organization? As a non-nurse, I am--frankly--very uncomfortable with this
trend and am now considering whether it is appropriate for me to continue
to remain a member. How do other non-nurses feel about this?
Breadth of experience/orientation/focus used to be one of the strengths of
ILCA and LCs I know. If the orgnaization does not reflect this, is this the
organization we should have?
