I saw one female infant with mastitis two years ago.   baby presented at
Day 7 with left breast inflamed and swollen.  Right breast was normal.
Mother reported she had been trying to squeeze something out. Baby was
treated with oral antibiotic, not hospitalized, and breastfeeding continued without interruption.    Eileen Shea, BSc,
