Hey, even though I live in Texas now, I was born and raised in California!!
They are meant to be swallowed.  I'd be hard pressed to get that much DHA in
my kid if he had to eat fish.  The DHA in these capsules come from tuna fish
eye-socket oil.  You can search the archives -- we discussed this way back
in LactNet's neonatal days/weeks.  I give them to Peter!
