From my observations of mothers like herself who are in tune with their
babies and not limiting their access or time at breast, what she describes
as not engorgement, but fullness (but not uncomfortable) and all within the
first 2 weeks pp is what I have seen numerous times.

We must still keep in mind that some mothers will experience uncomfortable
engorgement this far out (see the work by Humenick and Hill who identified
four different patterns of engorgement and extended engorgement did occur
for some moms), I would like to suggest that in many cases (the majority?)
mothers who freely breastfeed and have babies who are quite skilled at it
rather quickly get to the point that Jay is at: obvioulsy full breasts,
lots of milk, a baby who nurses often and well (and shows it from what
comes out the other end and by scale readings!) but no pain, no
engorgmeent, no "fever of unknown origin", etc.

Others' observations?

Enjoy your breastfeeding, Jay! You have earned it! And such a beautiful
baby to boot!! (My prolactin levels are rising just thinking of what you
must be feeling!) :-)
