I can't say anything about breastmilk as a nasal decongestant, but I can
attest to its efficacy as an eyedrop. Whenever I have a patient with
nasolacrimal duct obstruction or simple conjunctivitis I recommend one drop
of breastmilk freshly expressed into the affected eye at every feeding (or
about every 3 hours). Parents are amazed at how quickly it works--usu
within 24 hours. My personal sample size is over 50 patients.
