Brenda -- glad to hear mom and baby have gotten relief. I personally take Paxil for relief of perimenapausal depression -- I got there through the route of Sinequan (kept me drowsy), Zoloft - an SSRI (fine for three months, then bouncing off walls), Nor-something (visual changes and violent headaches), and finally Paxil, another SSRI.
Although the therapeutic dose is thought to be a minimum of 20 mg a day --
I actually started at five, was stable at ten for a year, then increased to 20
(15 is ideal for me, but cutting the tiny half in half again defeats me). Every couple of weeks I start to grind my teeth, then I cut back to ten until the grinding stops).
