Dear Netters,
Our clinical manager for our NICU informed me today that due to budget cuts, we will need to ask parents to supply their own bottles for storing breastmilk. We have been giving them sterile water bottles, but we are being charged for these, and we could save a substantial amount of money each year if the parents pay for their own. She asked me to find out what most other NICU's do - do your parents pay for theirs, or do you supply them free of charge. In Texas, is there any way that we can charge for these on the baby's bill? Our problem is that insurance companies will allow us to charge a flat rate/day and any expenses outside of that - we "eat". Ideas?
Please respond privately - I'm way behind on my email!! My mom has been in the hospital - cancer of the colon. She had surgery and is doing very well, but is tired. Brought her home last night. She has recovered remarkably well - thanks be to God!!
Thanks for your responses to my question in advance!!
