I'm a quick learner.  I once tried to wean a baby from a nipple shield
and will never again try the "cut" method.  Why?  It cut the baby's
tongue.  I personally supervised the initial cut and instructed Mom in
the technique but her subsequent cuts were not as "clean" and the baby
sustained a very small laceration of the tongue.  He was fine, but I was
