>>How do we know anyways that the "reaction" the baby had was an allergic
reaction? Because he gets a red rash around his mouth? How many
children are not allowed to eat strawberries because the juice irritated
the skin around their mouthes (not an allergic reaction)? Poor kids.<<
Jack, I just have to tell a little story here. I love cooking, and I love
fresh fruits. For many years while I was having children, I made many treks
to a pick-your-own-fruit farm for blackberries, raspberries and strawberries.
My children did tend to have interesting diapers when they had these fruits
during the first couple of years of life, but.............. I remember
having preschoolers and toddlers tripping around the fields, chasing
squirrels and fascinated by spiders as I picked as quickly as I could. Though
I tried to limit them, they managed during this time to stuff copious amounts
of strawberries in their mouths, and were covered with red juice by the time
I was finished. I rarely got out of the parking lot before the first loose
poopy diaper started............ they often had red bottoms, but they were
*so* happy with themselves, having enjoyed the gorging, that the trade-off
seemed worth it.
