Hi all,

1. Does anyone know where the studies are that definitively "prove" that
human milk is 20 calories/ounce? Does this hold true as an "average" for
breastmilk from the onset of mature milk through -- however long the infant
is breastfeeding? Is it still 20 cal/ounce when the baby is 4 months old, 6
months, 12 months, 2 years? Has anyone done studies on it? Does anyone
besides me care?

2. What is the average age for weaning in the U.S? According to the Ross
lab survey, the percentage of mothers bf at 6 months is about 21%. What does
that make the average age for weaning? (I know what we WANT it to be....
does anyone know what it IS?)

3. Thanks Barb Heiser, for the clarification regarding Miriam's nomination
for Surgeon General. We'll all be looking forward to hearing the next step
on this.
