Dear Deborah,
   I too am very new to LACTNET so pardon my naivete.  I can tell you I was
on antibotic for strep throat and my nursing son (13 months) was found to
have it also.  We were both on amoxilicillian.  No one thought to ask about
BFing, my son had a raspberry looking rash from the over dose I believe.  The
peditrician said he was allergic to amoxicillian, I am not sure if he  is
even today because I am afraid to try it again.  Moral of this story is you
are right to be concerned and I now use a family practicioner so they can
treat the whole family when ill.
