Keitha Whitaker's comments poignantly reminded me of a time when I was
working as a per diem in a newborn nursery. As the 7 pm hour came around,
and it was visiting hour, and all babies needed to be returned to the
nursery, away from their mothers and possible GERMS from visitors, I was in
the nursery, working, and it seemed like every baby in the place started to
wail. I was nursing a toddler at the time, and the noise and general level
of distress overwhelmed me, and I said to a co worker, "This is awful!
Isnt' there something wwe can DO?" [I couldn't hold them all at once! ; { ]
and she said to me
"If you are going to work HERE, you will have to get USED to this, dear."
Needless to say, I didn't last long there.
ACK ACK ACK ACK.
