Good morning everyone!

I have a breastfeeding mom who needs to be put on Flagyl. Baby is 6 months
old.

I know one option she has - a single dose of 2 gm, pump and dump for 24
hours.

My question:
Could this mom continue to breastfeed if she is given Metronidazole Vag. Gel
(metrogel - vaginal)? I looked up the information in Dr. Hale's book -
"Drug whose effect on nursing infants is unknown, but may be of concern".

Is there any updated information about this drug, so this mom could continue
breastfeeding and still be treated??

TIA
Pam in cold........ St. Louis , -4 degrees BRRRR!!!!!!!!! But it is sunny!
