I cannot understand the physician's thinking.  Augmentin does not have
less fat than breastmilk and its selling point is hydrolyzed protein,
which is irrelevant to the case in hand (and most cases, but that's
another story).  I think the physician is talking through the hole in
his head, starting with the notion that breastmilk is guilty until
proved innocent.  Breastmilk contains lipase which helps digest
breastmilk fat, and also works together with whatever bile salts are
present to digest these fats for absorption.  If the physician had said
Portagen, maybe there is room for argument (augument?) but I would still
disagree.

Breastfeed, it's good for you, o baby with the liver transplant.  By the
way, if the liver transplant succeeds, what's the issue anyhow?  And
breastfeed, it is even better getting it from a bottle.  Why take it
from a bottle?  Wouldn't the baby be comforted by the mother's breast
after surgery?
