Sharon,
I sent you the info on how long I nursed but I have to add two stroies about
my son,
AJ was 16 months old when I had my second total hip. The darn thing refused
to heal. Bone wouldn't build up around the prosthesis. I was told to wean
because BF was robbing my body of calcuim. Needless to say I didn't but I did
increase my intake of calcium. (Can't tolerate dairy products so I used Ca+
supplements and extra Vit D and C ).
I was preparing for another surgery by donating my own blood (autologous
transfusion) AJ was a week shy of his 3rd birthday. I was totally drained (3
unites in 2 weeks) and he wanted to nurse. After several vigiourous sucks he
looked at me nd said "Mom those darn doctor's took all your blood, now you
don't have any milk for me." That was the last time he nursed and he potty
trained himself the same day.
Leave it to an LC's kid to put blood supply and milk production together. Out
of the mouthes of babes..
Marie Davis
