I first scan the subjects listing of each digest. Sometimes I am able to
determine quickly that I do not need to download any information from a
particular Digest, and can print it to read later or read it immediately
on-line.
When I find information I want to save, I open a "new memo" file and copy the
info there, saving under an appropriate title (e.g. "Lead in BM"). Since
Lactnetters tend to address the same topic over several days, I usually have
2-3 "hotfiles" going at once. I then delete the full digest. I save all
the downloaded files under a general "Lactnet" folder so that I have a neat
directory of b/f topics, with info from various Digests in any given file. I
find that the 10 minutes or so this takes each day is well worth having the
documented info all in one place when I need it.
Thanks to those who sent in the excellent lists of references. I am sure
they will come to good use!
