Dr. Jack,
I enjoy reading your words of wisdom.  In regard to gentian violet, with
all three of my children, we had experience with the baby having thrush.
 With my first-born in l968, the pediatrician introduced me to gentian
violet when the other meds didn't clear it up.  Messy stuff but it zapped
the nasty yeasty.
