I have noticed from time to time that there are women who either gain a lot
while breastfeeding or lose a lot- maybe too much, I have also noticed that
these women often have babies who wake frequently and are especially sleep
deprived.  Sleeping and eating disturbances are frequently associated with
moderate to severe depression.  When a woman is really focused on weight
changes, we may need to see what is eating her as well as what she is
eating.  Undiagnosed postpartum depression or other psychological issues may
be influencing what we see on her hips.  Cathy
