Linda: Have you examined this baby to make sure the sore nipples are not
due to some mechanical issue on his part such as a short frenulum or bubble
pallette? A slightly tight frenulum and flat nipples combined can make for
excruciating pain. In any case, shells for inverted/flat nipples,
Lansinoh, and the Evert-it would all help. Try using "ice flowers" to
make nipple erect and reduce pain in the mom during initial latch. If she
isn't having problems with let-down, the ice shouldn't be a problem
