The director of nursing passed on a little
>message to me that that my only problem is that I am too strong on
>Breastfeeding.(!)
>Two days ago I was pretty horrified that my feelings that people only ever
>see me as a fanatic were confirmed.
Thoughts on the fanatic:
A "label" for a person who is enthusiastic about something I don't
feel enthusiasm for.
This enthusiasm is the focus of much of the person's energy and work.
Some fanantics:
Seat belt fanatic
Immunization fanatic
No-smoking fanatic
Fitness fanatic
Anti-drunk driving fanatic
Sports fan(atic)
Compassion fanatic (Mother T)
Justice fanatic
Education fanatic
Health fanatic
Etc...
"staff were pushing her... to breastfeed." I wonder if any hospital staff
have ever "pushed" a mother to bottlefeed? Must not, because I've never
heard of nursing staff accusing someone of "pushing bottles."
No important changes have ever been accomplished by people who are
wishy-washy. People who affect change are often negatively labeled by those
who are stuck in complacency.
