A bit of new info on the mother with low supply. She revealed that at one
point she was diagnosed with fibrocystic disease by her former OB. She has
had to have
2 or 3 large cysts aspirated, and has had 2 mammograms and a breast
sonogram
in the past. The breasts are very lumpy; are there any other symptoms or
manifestations of fibrocystic disease, particularly any that might be of
issue here regarding her supply problems?
She is encouraged by the thought that another thyroid evaluation, this time
by an MD who doesn't think she's a nut case, will help. She also plans to
have the new dr. check for retained placental fragments. I have continued
to suggest use of the SNS, utilizing the swaddling techniques you folks
have passed along (which were a great learning experience for me as well!)
and to investigate herbal lact. enhancement again, which she says she did
not try due to extreme PPD. She was quite interested in the info regarding
the link between PPD and thyroid.
Gotta go shovel off some more roofs here in wet cement snowland, Port
Angeles, WA.....
