Carrie, I second CarlaD'Anna's response to you.  I'm afraid that I don't know any "tricks" besides the ones you've probably already tried.   I did not respond because I figured that someone who has actually dealt with this problem might have some good advice and I have none other than those suggestions that Carla posted. I work in the NICU - our cleft lip/palate patients usually have surgery long after discharge from our unit, so I have no personal experience with this problem.  But even though I cannot be helpful as far as advice goes, my heart and prayers are with you during this extremely difficult and frustrating time.  For what it's worth, you have emotional support from your lactnet peers.  Please continue to let us know how this is going!!!
