My husband was very opposed to co sleeping with our first 2 children. My first slept through the night at 6 weeks so we thought we knew it all. The second never slepted a night in her life. And probably still doesn't-but she's 19 and doesn't bother me about it. By the time we had the 3rd we knew we had to sleep and slowly we developed a family bed. The 4th was born at home and by then we all slepted wherever we happened to fall down!

My husband and I have an active, loving sex life. We are very happily married after 23 years. We just learned to be creative and made it a priority. Our sleep cycles were often different than others, but we all slept well. Never had bedtime problems and never had crying children (well, not about sleep anyway)

My younger children sleep far better than the older ones.

I run a pretty "tight ship" as the kids say. But sleep doesn't fit into that schedule. My kids have done chores, had curfews, and lots of rules. They are really great kids. And no one sleeps with us.

All this to say-To each his own and we should all do what works for us.
