About 2 years ago Chandice Covington was doing a study of breast fluids at
Wayne State Univ.  The premise of the study was that the fluids are high in
carotenoids (like colostrum) and therefore are protective against br ca.
One of the gals that lived at my boarding house was collecting samples and
got a lot from pre-menopausal women.  Those of us post-menopause didn't
usually have much luck.  At the time I was 25 years post baby, 22 1/2  years
post weaning and a few years post menopause.  I don't know the current
status of the study.  Keep an eye out for it.  It was large and pretty well
funded.
