To Dr. Tom Hale -

I had a call yesterday from a mother who is tandem nursing a 3 yr old and
a 17 mo old. She has mitral valve prolapse and must take , in 24 hours
around her dental work, 4.5 grams of Amoxicillin. Is this safe for her?

I know that AMox is considered compatible with lactation, but I didn't know
about the large dose.

Thanks. Kathleen
