Hello friends-
As I don't have time to stay "connected" on the net too much anymore, I am
hoping that you all will help me.  I have a mom (not yet delivered,
primagravida) who has intermittent nipple eczema, and is planning to
breastfeed.  Her dermatologist prescribes Desowen 0.5% topically for this,
and this controls it rather well, at least when not nursing.  We will have to
wait and see about that.  The active ingredient here is desonide, a
corticosteroid.  I seem to remember some time back, a discussion on this
topic.  How should I advise her on this?  Is there any data on the absorption
of the steroids by baby?  Has Dr. Hale addressed this?  The dermatologist and
I would like your opinions/data.  Thanks in advance!
